Villa Manin

Located about half an hour from San Daniele del Friuli, in the municipality of Codroipo, stands the majestic Villa Manin—one of the most important Venetian villas in Northern Italy.
Built in the 17th century and expanded during the 18th century by the noble Manin family, the villa is also renowned for having been the final residence of Ludovico Manin, the last Doge of the Republic of Venice. It was here, in 1797, that the Treaty of Campo Formio was signed—a historic event that marked the end of the *Serenissima*.

The complex is striking for its grandeur and architectural harmony: a long, monumental avenue leads to the central building, flanked by side wings and surrounded by a vast historic park. The interiors—rich in decorations, frescoes, and state rooms—reflect the prestige and refinement of the Manin family.
