Palazzo Masetti de Concina, a historic residence with a long history spanning several centuries.
In 1063, the palace was part of the fiefdom belonging to the Patriarch of Aquileia. During the Middle Ages, alongside the lords of Varmo, the gastald resided within the castle grounds, a figure appointed by the Patriarch to manage his assets and protect his prerogatives in San Daniele.
In 1756, the Varmo feudal lords ceded the fiefdom to Giacomo de Concina, a Venice-based timber merchant, who entrusted the restoration of the gastald’s house to architect Alberto Bertoli. The work was completed in 1782. During the renovation, the barchesse were added and a small Italian garden was created.
The property subsequently passed through a female line to the Masetti Zannini de Concina family, the current owners. Over the years, the palace suffered damage from wars and earthquakes but has been almost completely restored by its owners. In the more recent past it has hosted events, exhibitions and demonstrations.
